MBTI Publication
Project Overview:
In this project, my objective was to create a 24-page publication that introduces readers to the fascinating world of the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI), with typography as the main visual element. This personality assessment categorizes individuals into one of 16 personality types based on their psychological attributes. The publication offers a concise overview of MBTI, an introduction to the 16 personality types, and detailed descriptions of each type.
Target Audience:
My primary focus was on engaging a youthful audience, typically ranging from 13 to 25 years old, although this content is enjoyable and beneficial for anyone with an interest in personality exploration.
Design Approach:
I drew inspiration from the clean and contemporary aesthetics often found in modern medical books. To achieve this, I opted for a minimalistic and bright design, emphasizing ample white space to create a clean yet approachable look.
My color palette features the existing colors associated with each MBTI category – blue, green, purple, and yellow. To enhance visual consistency and recognition, I took a step further by associating each category with a geometric shape, which served as a recurring visual motif throughout the publication. This not only added visual interest but also aided readers in navigating and identifying different personality types. For a touch of fun – I featured a celebrity and a quote for each personality type to provide the reader with a concrete example of what the types may be like "in the wild".
